Assessment Online
You've
all seen attempts at assessment online using things like "Print
out the following page, write on it and then send it via normal mail
to your Tutor". This use of the WWW
is a very poor attempt at assessment of students and resources.
Sadly, this example is in the majority of examples on the WWW. It
isn't necessary, but it is the norm.
Sometimes it appears that a software platform is
actually performing online assessment, but you can see the answers
to the questions under "View Source" at the top of the
page.
You would compromise yourself as a training organisation
the first time you delivered a course online because your students
would very quickly figure this out.
Not so with WebTrain. WebTrain
can perform the following types of assessment online:
1. Multiple choice
2. Multiple answer, multiple choice
3. Numerical
4. Formulae based numerical
5. Conditional response
6. Assignment type
7. Drop box
8. Multimedia based using Macromedia based products.
9. Timed exams
10. IP address conditional exams
11. Tutor moderated responses
12. Drag and Drop (recorded)
13. Matching responses (recorded)
There is really no limit to what WebTrain can do in the
area of online assessment. These examples are simply just a list
of what we've been asked to do so far.
